President Obama and Speaker Boehner have issued their proposals to reduce the national deficit. Bread For the World has analyzed both of them. The citizens’ group seeking to end hunger noted in its analysis that neither plan preserves the 25-year-old “principle that deficit reduction must not increase poverty.” A summary of both proposals was just released.
