Not Efficient But Ultimate

Jesuit Father Chis Rupert has brought a “systematic mind to the subject” of prayer.
As Rupert taught people classic Ignatian prayer techniques he began to think about the way expectations and terminology were predetermining how people experience prayer.
That suggests an important distinction. When a person brings experience into prayer does one consider it for “efficiency, happiness and profit” or ask “ultimate questions about a purpose in life?” The article containing Fr. Ruperts insights was disseminated most recently in the National Jesuit News.
