Dutch Masters

Cigars? Not this time. Though many think of them with that title-phrase. Even the Wikipedia entry,

Dutch Golden Age painting,” redirects tobacco-aficionados to the cigar. The title includes one of the Dutch painters of that 17th Century period. The painter was highlighted by Jesuit Timothy O’Brien as he recalled sitting in front of one of that artist’s paintings.
What began as a class to appreciate art ran its course and allowed him to see with new eyes. His thoughtful, brief essay in America today focuses on more than eyesight.
