At the last supper Jesus asked his disciples to pray. He had their future, their mission, in view. Asking is also loving. The image of vine and branches brings to the centre continuity—Jesus with us, we with Jesus by the power of Holy Spirit. At today's General Audience Pope Francis listed some characteristics of prayer.
