Risk

The Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects citizens from “cruel and unusual punishment.” The amendment figures in the nation’s debate over executing prisoners. One drug used in chemical execution has proven risky, yet some prisons continue using it. The Washington Post reported one state has rushed to use up its supply before it expires. To rush collides with constitutional protection.
