Pope Benedict's Message on the Occasion of the New Year (World Day of Peace) focuses on ecology. He entitled his 2010 message, "If You Want To Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation." Not all Catholics have been responding positively to Pope Benedict or to his predecessor, John Paul II, who began to raise awareness that ecology has a theological dimension. After all, stewardship of creation is part of the human vocation.
