. . .through the lens of three new U.S. cardinalsJohn L. Allen reported from Rome yesterday on the giving of the pallium to 38 archbishops elevated to cardinals. Three of them are from the United States.
Mr. Allen took the opportunity to suggest their similarities and differences as episcopal leaders in Cincinnati, Miami and Milwaukee, and what they might mean for the future of the church.
